Field Coach - Parttime
The Two Year Alternative Licensure Program is seeking experienced educators — retired Teachers, Principals,
Assistant Principals, Instructional Coaches, and school leaders who bring their expertise to support and mentor
first-year teachers as they work toward meeting the Colorado Teacher Quality Standards and securing their
teaching license
Role Overview
Field Coaches provide structured, high-quality support to teachers through lesson plan review, classroom
observations, and actionable feedback. Coaches maintain consistent communication via email, phone, and
in-person meetings. Each coach completes eight formal observations per teacher across the two-year
program: Year 1—Fall (3 observations), Spring (3 observations); Year 2—Fall (2 observations). Most
coaches work with 2–3 teachers per year. Observations are documented on a running record. Training for
Field Coaches is provided.
Key Responsibilities

Coach teachers in standards‑aligned instruction, lesson planning, differentiation, and evidence‑based practices

Support classroom culture, management, and inclusive learning environments

Model professionalism, communication, and reflective practice

Maintain accurate documentation and comply with program expectations

Provide targeted support for Special Education candidates when applicable
**Special Education Teacher’s Internship: Special Education Field Coaches complete two formal
internship observations, grade the reflective journal, and submit final documentation.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree
Minimum 2 years teaching experience (Elementary, Secondary, or Special Education)
Preferred:
Master’s degree
3+ years Special Education experience
Compensation
$1,000 per teacher per year
Special Education Internship Stipend $300 per teacher
Mileage reimbursed at the current State rate
