Steps to Take to Enter the TIRP

Make the decision to become a teacher.
Submit fingerprints to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (Fingerprint card is required please contact the TIRP office for a card and directions. Do not delay in this process as a background check takes a considerable amount of time to clear and a delay could hold you up from being interviewed for a position at a school/district and hired.

Each content area requires 24 semester hours OR the passing of the PLACE OR PRAXIS II test in your content area. Click on the links to view. Please contact mcreynolds@ppboces.org if you have questions regarding testing requirements in your content area.

APPLICATION PACKET MUST BE COMPLETE TO APPLY TO TIRP AND WILL INCLUDE:
Your application (under Steps to Admission)
$20.00 application fee, please make check or money order payable to: PPBOCES/TIRP
Original set of transcripts (sealed or unsealed) from all colleges you have attended
Any CLEP or DANTES testing results
Three letters of recommendation no more than 6 months old, signed and dated
Resume
All answers to questions on page two of our application
A copy of your PLACE or PRAXIS II test score if you have taken the test
YOUR APPLICATION PACKET MUST BE COMPLETE EXCEPT FOR A MISSING TEST SCORE.

Once your application is received and transcripts evaluated you will be contacted by email within 2-4 business days.

If you are eligible to enter TIRP (with 24 sh OR your PLACE or PRAXIS II test passed), you will be given instructions on how to receive your Statement of Eligibility from the Colorado Department of Education. An SOE is now required to be eligible to enter TIRP and to be hired as a teacher.

TIRP staff publishes and sends periodic candidate availability
listing to local districts, charter schools, and private schools with
your name, content area and phone # to assist you if you are an eligible
candidate.

Once you receive your Statement of Eligibility from the Colorado Department of Education and you have been hired for a FULL TIME position and signed a contract as a teacher you will be in TIRP. Programs begin in January and August of each year
