Speech

The following requirements must be met to be eligible to enter the TIR program in the content area of Speech.

Requirement One: 24 semester hours

OR

Requirement Two: Passing of the PLACE test #19

A maximum of 6 credits MAY be approved for Life Experience

Both requirements; however, must be completed prior to the program completion in two years.  

Interpersonal Communication (6sh)
Example: Nonverbal communication, communication theory, mediation

Group Communication (6sh)
Examples: Discussion, decision making, small groups, organizational communication, intercultural communication

Non-print Media (3sh)
Examples: Radio, television, mass media, film making

Public Communication (6sh)
Examples: Public address, debate, voice, diction, oral interpretation, speech communication

Persuasion (3sh)
Examples: Mass communication, semantics, sociolinguistics
