SOCIAL STUDIES

The following requirements must be met to be eligible to enter the TIR program in the content area of Social Studies.

Requirement One: 24 semester hours
OR
Requirement Two: Passing of the PLACE test #06 or the PRAXIS II test #10081

Both requirements; however, must be completed prior to the program completion in two years.  

1. History Course Work Credit Hours
a. Colorado History - 3sh
b. U.S. History – 3sh
c. World History – 3sh

2. Geography
a. Cultural Geography – 3sh
Examples: Socio-cultural, Religions
b. Physical Geography – 3sh
Examples: Environmental Systems, Regional
Climate, Vegetation, Landforms

3. Political Science – 3sh
Examples: U.S. Government, Comparative
Governments, Local Government

4. Economics-3sh (Micro, or Macro, Global)

5. Behavioral/Social Sciences -3sh
Examples: Anthropology, Psychology
Sociology
