School Librarian K-12

The following requirements must be met to be eligible to enter the TIR program in the content area of School Librarian.

Requirement One: 24 semester hours

OR

Requirement Two: Passing of the PLACE test #42

Both requirements; however, must be completed prior to the program completion in two years.

Children's & Young Adult's Literature (6 semester hours)

    • Children's Lit
    • Adolescent Lit

Copyright, Fair Use, Intellectual Freedom, & Acceptable Use & Internet Policies (3 semester hours)

    • Technology Institution Policies & Operations
    • Professional Principals & Ethical Issues
    • Current Issues in Technology

Library Program Administration, Leadership Professionalism & Research (6 semester hours)

    • Administration of Instructional Resources
    • Managing Information & Learning Technology Programs
    • Research

Selection, Evaluation & Utilization of Library Materials & Cataloging (9 semester hours)

      • Cataloging
      • Classifying
      • Collection Development
      • Media Selection/Eval.
