Elementary and Special Education requirements using transcript credits (24) are the same.
Test Requirements are different, please see below:
Mandatory - Test Requirements for Elementary Education Endorsement only . PLACE test # 01 OR the PRAXIS II test # 10014.
Mandatory - Test Requirements for Special Education Endorsement only . PLACE test # 20 and one of the Elementary tests passed (Contact office for a study guide if needed).
To meet both Elementary and Special Education requirements you must have both the Elementary test and the Special Education test.Testing must be complete and passed before applying to the program.
Credits will be reviewed, however passing the PLACE or PRAXIS II test will be the factor for determining eligibility.
English Composition (3 credits)
courses in grammar, composition
Literature (3 credits)
Science (3 credits):
geology, life science, general Science,
environmental science, physical science, chemistry
Mathematics (3 credits)
Social Studies (3 credits)
civics, geography, history, economics
Fine Arts (3 credits): music, dance, drama,
visual arts, theatre
Physical Education or Health (3 credits)
Additional hours in any area above (3 credits)
Life Experience may not be substituted for credits
