EARLY CHILDHOOD

Documented evidence (from transcripts) of 24 credits of college level coursework from a regionally accredited college or university in each of the areas listed below:

English Composition (3 credits)
Literature (3 credits)
Natural Sciences (3 credits)
geology, life science, general science, environmental
science, physical science, chemistry
Mathematics (3 credits)
Social Studies (3 credits)
civics, geography, history, economics
Fine Arts (3 credits required)
music, visual arts
Physical Education or Health (3 credits required)
Additional hours in any area above (3 credits)
Life Experience may not be substituted for credits

OR

Passing score on the Early Childhood Education Place exam (#02)

If using credits (only) to qualify you must have a minimum GPA of 2.6

NOTE: DISTRICTS REQUIRE THAT CANDIDATES PASS THE PLACE TEST PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT.
