BOCES/UCCS Teacher-in-Residence Program TIRP until after your have taken
and passed the appropriate content test. See below for more details on this
requirement:
Individuals interested in applying for the Pikes Peak BOCES/UCCS Teacher-in-Residence
Program (TIRP) must FIRST take and pass a test over the content associated with
the teacher license desired. For example, an individual wanting a mathematics
teacher license must take the mathematics content test. After the test has been
passed, the application form can be filled out and submitted (see Admission).

The Colorado Department of Education (CDE) will accept either the PRAXIS II or the PLACE test as fulfilling the requirement for a content assessment. CDE will accept all PLACE tests, but only some from PRAXIS II (see below for the list).

The PRAXIS II TEST can only be taken for those candidates desiring
a teacher license in the areas of English, mathematics, social studies, science
or elementary education (The test numbers for the PRAXIS II tests are:

- 10014 Elementary Education/Early Childhood Education
- 10061 Mathematics
- 10435 Science
- 10081 Social Studies
