PLACE And PRAXIS II Tests
Printer Friendly
Individuals interested in applying for the Two Year Alternative Program, formerly known as the Pikes Peak BOCES/UCCS Teacher-in-Residence Program (TIRP) must take and pass a test in their content area OR meet the 24 credit requirement before being eligible for the program. For example, an individual wanting a mathematics teacher license must take the mathematics content test. When the test has been passed a copy of the test score must either accompany the application packet or be faxed to the office at 380.6250 if you have already submitted your application. If the test has not been taken then the credit requirement must be met and the test results can be received at a later time within the two year period.
The Colorado Department of Education (CDE) will accept either the PRAXIS II or the PLACE test as fulfilling the requirement for a content assessment depending on which content area you are interested in. CDE will accept all PLACE tests, but only some from PRAXIS II (please see below ).
